FROM THE EAST
My mind has been on the subject of leadership. Leadership is not about being the best, it is about making everyone else better. It is literally impossible for a leader to do everyone himself – what kind of organization would that be? A leader’s job is to inspire others and give them the tools the succeed.
A lodge is made up of many individual brothers, each with their strengths and talents. As a lodge, we each bring our unique perspective and experience. I have shared the idea of “Primus Inter Pares” or First Among Equals. One of our key lessons taught every meeting, is that we “Meet on the Level.” A brother serving as a leader is no more a Mason, or better than any other brother, but simply serves in a different position for the time being.
The installation ceremony teaches, “though elevated for a time above his fellows, his is elevated by them.” and “first of all, that he is an individual Mason, sharing in that respect a common lot with his Brethren, and therefore interested in the welfare of each and all.”
If you see something needs to get done but no one is doing it? Take charge. Volunteer your talents. That is how you grow as an individual, and we grow as an organization. It is one of the great things about our fraternity. We are craftsman building together.
Our service at the Food Bank and other projects is always a breath of fresh air. I love working with motivated individuals who are highly competent and capable. It reminds me why I love this fraternity.
Brothers, we have a lot of interest in our lodge at our moment. Over nine interested candidates and more asking every week. We are going to grow and help these men in their search for Light. We are going to be very busy in the near future with degrees. Each of us will be a leader in our own way. Let’s be ready.
Your Brother on the Level,
Ephraim Sng, Worshipful Master

Utah Food Bank
We had a great turnout at this month’s Food Bank service. We sorted incoming foods into categories that the Food Bank could then use. Doing good and having fun while doing it.
Grand Lodge Visitation and Dinner
We presented a favorable situation of the status and trajectory of Twin Peaks Lodge #32. We enjoyed a dinner with Canyon Lodge #19 and the officers of Grand Lodge.
Memorial Day Cleanup
Thanks to all the brothers who came out to help clean up the flowerbeds and exterior at the lodge building. Many hands made light work.
