Sickness and Distress

Please keep these brethren and their families in your thoughts, and add them to your daily devotions to the Grand Architect.

If you happen to hear about a brother who is in distress, please contact either the Worshipful Master or the Lodge Secretary ASAP so that the Lodge can put itself in a position to assist.

FROM THE EAST

Let me begin by apologizing for the late TrestleBoard, your Worshipful Master has had a very busy January so far! Hopefully, I will be in better control of my time the balance of the year.

Canyon Lodge #13 has completed the sale of the Midvale Masonic Temple; our January meeting was the last meeting of any body in that building. That having been said, members of Twin Peaks Lodge have moved the Lodge paraphernalia to a secure storage locker in Midvale; keys and access are in the hands of the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, and Tyler. The new “South Valley Masonic Center” at 7390 South Creek Road is now ready for Lodge meetings; we will have an Educational Feature on Monday, January 29th at 7:00 PM in that location, and our February 5th stated business meeting will open at 7:30 P.M., at that location. As we meet after regular business hours, there is plenty of parking available in front of the building. The outer doors to the building are locked after normal business hours, we will have a Brother there to admit members and guests into the building until the Lodge opens, or the educational feature begins; after that time, you will need to text the Tyler (WB Ric Wailes) at 801-808-1072 or the Secretary (WB Glen Van Steeter) at 602-904-1551 to gain admittance. The Lodge room is on the second floor, turn left after you exit the elevator, and you will see it (Suite 203). The new Lodge room is smaller than our old one, but there is plenty of room for our regular business meetings and Educational Features. Please time your travel to arrive prior to the Lodge meetings!

Our monthly meet-up will be held at Chubby’s Cafe in Riverton on January 22nd, beginning at 7:00 PM. Bring your spouse, friends, anyone interested in Masonry and let’s plan on a good meal and a great time!

The annual Grand Lodge Communication will be at the Salt Lake Masonic Temple on February 2-3, 2024. All Master Masons are welcome, please contact the Lodge Secretary (WB Glen Van Steeter) for registration forms if you are interested in attending. You must be registered in advance, no walk-in registrations will be accepted.

Our Junior Past Master, WB Ephraim Sng, has gifted Twin Peaks Lodge with two very good years of Masonic growth, education, and Brotherhood! It is my desire to accept that gift, and continue to move Twin Peaks Lodge forward in Masonry, membership, and the spirit of Brotherhood! I am looking forward to seeing you at Chubbys on the 22nd, our Educational Feature on the 29th, and our Stated Business Meeting on February 5th!

Parting on the Square,

Bob Hartman, Worshipful Master

FROM THE SECRETARY’S DESK

Happy New Year to the Brethren of Twin Peaks Lodge No. 32.

152st Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Utah

Annual Communication will be held on Friday, February 2rd, starting at 9:00 am, and will conclude on Saturday, February 3th after the installation of the new Grand Master and his officers. Cost for registration will be $50 for delegates and visitors. The form does not indicate whether Lunch will be included in this fee as it was last year. I will try and get more information for you. Be aware that the Grand Secretary must receive your registration by January 27th and no Brother without a registration will be permitted to participate. There is a Ladies Program at no charge, and there is also the Ladies Luncheon on Saturday for $48 and the Grand Master’s Banquet on Friday Evening for $70. IF YOU PAY ELECTRONICALLY VIA PAYPAL, PLEASE ADD 3% TO YOUR TOTAL COST. (For example: If you just want to pay the delegate fee of $50, then you need to send $51.50, which is $50 + ($50 x .03 or $1.50).)

To the Brethren who have already paid their 2024 dues, THANK YOU! For those of you who have not yet paid your 2024 dues, please take a couple of minutes now and get that resolved. You can pay electronically using our Pay Dues page, or you can send a check for $91 to Twin Peaks Lodge No. 32, PO Box 8132, Midvale UT 84047-8132.

Meetups

Our first meetup of the year will be January 22, 2024. Our new location will be at Chubby’s Cafe in Riverton. We’ve been having a great turnout and a great time discussing Masonry in general. Come out with your family for fellowship and fun.

Square, Plumb, and Level

Plumbs must be well connected above, to be well guided below.

Masonry isn’t just a social order, it points us to the divine. “The Brotherhood of Man, Under the Fatherhood of God.” In our charge, we are taught to esteem Him as the chief good.

If we desire to be “Better Men,” we need to remember to what source we should look for truth.
